Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur will need to identify a new quarterbacks coach for the second straight year. On Thursday, the Philadelphia Eagles announced the hiring of Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion as the team's new offensive coordinator.
Mannion, a former NFL quarterback, joined the Packers as an assistant coach in 2024. He was elevated to quarterbacks coach in 2025, replacing veteran coach Tom Clements, who retired following the 2024 season.
In Philadelphia, Mannion will get a chance to call plays for Nick Sirianni's team. He is replacing Kevin Patullo, who lasted just one season as the Eagles offensive coordinator and playcaller. The Eagles finished 19th in scoring offense in 2025.
The rise up the coaching ranks has been a fast one for Mannion, who was with the Seattle Seahawks as a player during the 2023 season before joining the Packers coaching staff in February of 2024.
The Packers have a natural internal replacement candidate in Luke Getsy, who re-joined LaFleur's staff as a senior assistant in 2025. He was previously the quarterbacks coach between 2019 and 2021, giving him overlap with Jordan Love.
Mannion, who is still only 33 years old, was a third-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft. He appeared in 14 career games, including three starts, over nine NFL seasons.
