Pacers wing Bennedict Mathurin has been upgraded to questionable with a right thumb sprain for Monday's 1:30 p.m. game against the Hawks in Atlanta after missing the last 11 games, the Pacers posted on their social media accounts Sunday.
Generally this season, Pacers players who have missed several games with injuries who are then upgraded to questionable have played in the game for which they were upgraded.
Mathurin has appeared in just 24 of the Pacers' 46 games this season due to the thumb sprain and a right great toe sprain suffered in the season's second game. However, he ranks second on the Pacers in scoring average with 17.8 points per game and third in rebounding with 5.5 per game. Mathurin scored just two points on 1 of 6 shooting in his last game on Jan. 2, and Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said Mathurin had been trying to play through the injury for a while and it was decided he should take time off to heal.
Pacers two-way contract guard Quenton Jackson is also listed as questionable with a right ankle sprain. He suffered the injury in Wednesday's loss to the Celtics. He was also initially listed as questionable for Friday's win over the Thunder, but eventually ruled out.
