INDIANAPOLIS -- Recently acquired Pacers center Ivica Zubac suffered a fractured rib in Wednesday's game and will miss the rest of the 2025-26 season, a league source told the IndyStar on Friday morning.
Zubac left the game with a head contusion after taking an elbow from Portland center Donovan Clingan but he did have an ice pack on his side while speaking to media members following the game.
Zubac was acquired from the Clippers on Feb. 5 along with forward Kobe Brown in a deal that sent guard Bennedict Mathurin, center Isaiah Jackson and three draft picks including two first rounders to Los Angeles. Zubac missed a month after the trade to heal a left ankle sprain initially suffered on Dec. 20. He missed five games and played most of the month of January on the ankle and according to Zubac and coach Rick Carlisle, it was not properly healed when he joined the Pacers.
Zubac played five games with Indiana and averaged 11.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He was initially on a minutes restriction and averaged 23.6 minutes per game. Prior to the trade, he averaged 14.4 points and 11.0 rebounds per game for the Clippers in 43 games, averaging 30.9 minutes per game.
The Pacers are in last place in the NBA at 15-55 and have 12 games remaining.
