The grandson of music legend Ozzy Osbourne was made a mascot for Aston Villa Football Club for their win against Manchester United.

Dressed in a Villa kit, Sidney accompanied midfielder John McGinn onto the pitch ahead of the match on Sunday.

"This is so very special, Ozzy would have loved it," his grandmother Sharon Osbourne said in a post on Instagram.

The Birmingham Premier League team extended their winning run to 10 matches in all competitions, their best run as a top-flight club since 1914, with a 2-1 win over Manchester United.

Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy died aged 76, less than two weeks after the band's Back to the Beginning farewell gig at Villa Park.

During the concert, Ozzy performed some of his biggest hits while seated on a black throne then was joined by the full original Sabbath line-up, with the four members not seen on stage together for 20 years.
