NORMAN — Oklahoma men's basketball secured its first addition from the transfer portal this offseason.

Khani Rooths has committed to the Sooners, he announced on social media.

Rooths started two games this past season as a junior for Louisville while seeing time in 31 games. He averaged 5.3 points and 4.3 rebounds over 15.9 minutes per game.

The Washington, D.C. native is a former top-35 overall recruit.

Rooths has tremendous upside and brings size at 6-foot-10. If Derrion Reid decides to return to OU next season, the Sooners will possess a big frontcourt.

OU has lost Jeff Nwankwo (Youngstown State), Andreas Holst, Jake Hansen and Kuol Atak (Virginia Tech) in the transfer portal this offseason.

The Sooners landed their first transfer portal addition of the offseason one week after announcing the hire of general manager Lucas McKay.
