Reported by Mike Lombardi.

Me: I like this(as a Rams fan) because it's risky, and that goes against the grain of everything we did offensively last season.
It could blow up in Spagnuolo's face.....but i'm on board with an offense that's willing to evolve out of the 20th century.

The St. Louis Rams have signed former Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels to be their offensive coordinator, according to a league source.

McDaniels, the first to interview for the Rams job, also interviewed with the Vikings about their offensive coordinator position. Pat Shurmur, who had run the Rams' offense, was hired last week as Cleveland Browns head coach.
McDaniels, 34, the New England Patriots' offensive coordinator from 2006 to 2008, was the Broncos' head coach from January 2009 until early last month, when he was dismissed with a 3-9 record and following a videotaping scandal. He was an assistant coach with the Pats from 2001

I really respect McDaniels ability as an offensive coordinator, and his pairing with a solid defensive minded coach makes me a bit worried.

Say what you want, but a coaching staff headed by individuals with established schemes along with a history of success means a lot in this league.

meh, I think he lasts a year and then bolts for a college HC job. If that happens, then the young QB will have 3 OCs in 3 years.

We'll see how he works out as the OC outside of NE. It's pretty easy being the OC with Brady as your QB. That's kind of like hiring Indy's OC. I think about any of us could go be Indy's OC and sit there and let Manning run the show.

Unless the Cardinals figure out a solid plan to fix our LB corps and the QB situation, I think this is the Rams division for at least the next couple of years.

Good hiring - I didn't understand the Shurmur love and am glad he is gone. I also like what McDaniels tried to do offensively in Denver (scheming not personnel).
