Because viable backups aren't easy to come by and whether or not you want to believe it, as backups go, Sanchez is one of the better ones. In fact, he might be a decent fit in Kelly's offense being that he, too, is a Pac-10 guy. If the Eagles had bit and traded Sanchez, they'd be stuck with Matt Barkley right now.
