Adam Schefter says double jeopardy is included in the terms of the CBA. Not sure if they league could increase the suspension, even if they wanted to.

Apparently he is wrong;

A short time later, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced through a league spokesman he has indefinitely suspended Rice based on the new video evidence, which figured to scare off any team that might have contemplated signing him anyway.

I think everyone deserves a second chance. The problem was his initial suspension was laughable. Rice did a Horrible thing but I hope he can learn from it. I also hope that his wife and him can work things out.

He will be back in the league at some point.

That's such garbage. He's making up for a wrong decision....nothing like trying to cover your own rear end for a previous mistake.

Can we fine Rodger for his first mistake now that WE see he was wrong? Double Jeopardy works BOTH WAYS

I just realized that at the 0:08 second mark, it looks like he spits on her

I believe you are correct. It certainly appears that something came from his mouth at her direction. Looked like spit to me. No wonder she smack him on the elevator.

This guy is absolutely dog sh*t in my book.

Everyone will agree this guy is a POS but what boggles my mind is the fact that his fiance married him afterward and is now claiming it was her fault he knocked her ass out. She must really love the lifestyle$$$.

I don't want to pile on with this situation but the thing that strikes me the most is how casual Rice was, like it was no big thing. I can't imagine knocking out anyone, especially not someone I loved. But if I did it, I can't imagine my response would be so matter of fact. And I'm positive I wouldn't just drag her ass out of the elevator, dress askewed, without a care in the world. Just a guess but I'd bet he's done this many times before.

Maybe, but if a guy is capable of doing what we just saw him do, who knows what he could have threatened her with if she were to leave?

So does Janay Rice sue TMZ for costing her and her husband $24 million?

The NFL saying today is the first time they've seen this video is just as asinine as the Atlanta Hawks owner realizing after 9 years that the crowd at his games are 70% black.

IMO, Her greatest fault is marrying him after and doing her best to protect him from the repercussions.

But that being said, I am not in her shoes, so I can never blame the victim, even in this regard.

Maybe he stuck a $mil in her savings account, if she agreed to not testify and go on with the marriage.

At least he didn't kill anyone. How long until he gets his statue in Baltimore?
