Sometimes you just gotta feel bad for a team and it's fans. This is just too much bad luck for one team. I thought that Culpepper was getting a look but KC went with Quinn Gray as a backup. Add that to the mess that is Larry Johnson and I'm glad that I'm not a KC backer right now.

Chiefs place QBs Croyle, Huard on IR

The Chiefs placed quarterbacks Brodie Croyle and Damon Huard on injured reserve Wednesday, meaning Thigpen will make his second career start this weekend against the New York Jets.

Croyle suffered a season-ending knee injury in last Sunday’s 34-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans and was replaced by Huard, who injured his thumb in the fourth quarter.

With both Croyle and Huard sidelined, the Chiefs (1-5) will start the inexperienced Thigpen under center Sunday when they visit the Jets.
Thigpen, 24, made his first career start September 21, completing just 39 percent of his passes and throwing three interceptions in a 38-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

A 2007 second-round draft selection, Thigpen has completed 42 percent of his passes for 392 yards, two touchdowns and four picks in four games this year.

In another move Wednesday to address depth at the position, Kansas City agreed to terms with quarterback Quinn Gray on a two-year contract.
Gray, who was cut by the Indianapolis Colts prior to the season, passed for 986 yards and 10 TDs in eight games with the Jacksonville Jaguars last year.

The Chiefs made a pair of other roster moves Wednesday, claiming punter Steve Weatherford off waivers from the New Orleans Saints and signing wide receiver Nate Hughes to the practice squad.

Yeah they are a trainwreck that's only gotten worse over the last couple years. I really don't get why there is a lot of man love for Herm Edwards. I've never thought of him as a good coach.

I'm sorry those guys got hurt but even if they hadn't that team wouldn't have won five games this year. They have completely bottomed out. Enough so that they'll finally be able to get rid of Carl Peterson. That town will throw a parade.

I like Herm's earnestness, but football isn't a Jane Austin novel, and certainly after this disastrous stop in Kansas, this has to be Herm's last head coaching chapter.
