Oh yeah Calvin, get ready for multiple playoff appearances and Super Bowls with those Jets! The grass is always greener when that first check hits the bank.

FOH.
And the grass is always greener until the colts and Pats plant him on his butt twice a year.

eh. He did have a hard time here. He was a first round pick that was widely panned by the fans and media. He struggled in the 4-3 and didn't really get to show his stuff until last season.

I don't think it's unfair for him to categorize his days here as dark. I think he's speaking less to the organization than his circumstance.

My thoughts exactly. He wasn't exactly welcomed with open arms by the fans.

Still if he want's to see what really dark days are like, try not living up to expectations in New York.

i think it says alot that your "career year" tallied 6 sacks. He thinks Cards fans were hard on him, wait until the New Yorkers get ahold of him.

That just goes to show that at least some of the players do read the things we say about them here. Why would Calvin Pace,Big Davis, and others want to stay here and take the verbal abuse. Now it has started on Anquan Boldin.I was disappointed in what he said, but i still love him,and want him on our team. The word "bust" should not be allowed on any Cardinals message board. At least not when it is used in a sentance with one of our players.

My man, the Phoenix market is TAME in comparison to where he's at now.

If he thinks the jabs being thrown at him here were bad, wait until the moment he even SLIGHTLY under-performs in New York.. They'll have his ass on a rail and never let up.

I agree and was impressed that Pace didn't bad mouth the organization like so many have who've left the Cards.

Finally we have to remember that players aren't leaving the AZ for somewhere the grass is greener, they're going where there IS Grass!

I could not care less what the NYJ's fans do.I loved Calvin when he was here and wish him the best, unless we are playing them.I met Calvin at a kickoff luncheon, and he is a nice guy.A little shy,and quiet.Russel Davis was at our table that year too.Maybe Calvin just appeared to be shy because Russel talked so much.
PS.I am not your man,i am an old woman.lol.

He didn't earn a chance to show his stuff.

He only was on the field cause Okeafor was hurt.

He wouldn't be making 20mil garanteed money if it was not for the Cardinals.

He is going to be the poster child for biggest free agent busts, and I am prepared to put A$FN happy time fun buck on that statement.

AND he fell through a window while here in the desert, during a time where we needed him.

Pace can go blow bubbles.

"My man" is the same as friend.

However, if you're female, the term "MY MAN" doesn't seem to apply. LOL.

Arizona had the No. 6 pick in 2003 and many fans wanted the team to draft Terrell Suggs, a star Arizona State defensive end. The Cardinals instead traded the pick to New Orleans for the 17th and 18th selections. They took wide receiver Bryant Johnson and then Pace, a less-heralded defensive end from Wake Forest.

Well, yeah we were P.O.'d cause it was a horrible move by our front office, and still is listed as one of the dumbest draft moves in NFL history.

Pace started every game as a rookie, but tallied only 32 tackles and a sack, hardly resembling the disruptive force the Cardinals scouted in his Demon Deacons days.

He played in 14 games the following year with no starts and had nine tackles and 4 1/2 sacks. His third season ended after five games when he cut his right forearm while falling through a window at his home during a bye weekend.

So after 3 sub-par years, and falling through a window, we as Cardinal fans were wrong to write him off as a bust ? That makes ZERO sense.

"I don't believe in that word," Pace said. "Sometimes it just doesn't work out for people. You can't label somebody a bust. It's like any other job. Sometimes that job just isn't for you. You might need a fresh start and go somewhere where they're giving you a legitimate opportunity."

Well, Calvin Pace you are write about that. The job here was not for you.....it was for Chike Okeafor.

Sorry, I don't agree.

Part of being a football player is opening yourself up for criticism. If you are going to be paid millions of dollars then you are setting your self up to be perfect. I think it is totally fair to expect perfection out of anyone being paid over a million dollars a year.

Big Davis, and Calvin Pace [edit:except for last year] performed at a sub-par level for where they were draft. And Davis was paid a vast amount of cash and didn't perform up to the standards he should.

I don't feel a moments pity for either of those guys, and none for any other player that is raking in milliions upon millions of dollars.

As much as I like Anquan Boldin and I agree that he doesn't deserve the hate getting thrown at him. He brought it apon himself, and the fans have every right to rip into him if they choose. If Boldin takes that personal, well, he should get thicker skin cause it happens in every football town USA, just not Arizona.

I agree. Pace is in for a very rude awakening when he gets to NY. At his price tag he will be thrown under the bus early and often.

Funny how those dark days got more than a tad brighter in a contract year. Funny how that works.

I think Wendell Bryant would've been great. He just needed a chance. No way we should even remotely use the term, bust, with him.

Regarding the article on Pace, it seems the writer was trying to make the story about the Cardinals and with a negative slant. The quotes from Calvin Pacein the article do not create the inference the writer is attempting to state.

Just another hack...

This would go into the "chicken or the egg" argument category.

Did he do well because of it being a contract year or the fact that he finally had a coaching staff with a clue that knew how to use him?

People are putting way too much into this because Pace does not bad mouth the organization (although the headline implies that he did). He got paid, has a fresh start with a new team and I wish him well except when he plays the Cards, of course

Bye Week

If the Jets are going to be better, this year, they better hope that none of their players put an arm through a glass window during the bye week.
