ORHS tennis players honored at awards banquet

The Oak Ridge High School Tennis Boosters recently hosted their annual awards banquet for the Wildcat and Lady Wildcat teams. Parents and players met at the First United Methodist Church on the Oak Ridge Turnpike to enjoy a dinner catered by Hibachi Pizza.

ORHS coaches Joanne and David Bowman emceed the event, distributing academic and athletic awards earned by student-athletes during the tennis teams’ TSSAA District 3 competition.

Six players were singled out for their outstanding performances during the 2026 spring season, according to a news release. For each of the last 12 years, the Bowmans have used player match results, team practice attendance/performance, and spectator observations of ORHS players’ on-court behavior/mental toughness to select three Wildcats and three Lady Wildcats to receive special awards.
