One day after releasing his official visit schedule, 2027 five-star safety Honor Fa'alave-Johnson has released the final six schools that he's considering in his recruitment.
The Oregon Ducks were among them, also joined by USC, Miami, LSU, Texas and Notre Dame. Fa'alave-Johnson had put together a larger list in recent months and has narrowed it even further.
Fa'alave-Johnson isn't just any five-star safety — he's the No. 1 safety in the 2027 class and No. 16 player overall, per 247 Sports Composite. He competes for Cathedral Catholic High School, in San Diego, CA, where he's also the top-ranked player in the state, a significant accomplishment considering the talent that comes out of California.
Considered the best safety in the class, the 6-foot-1, 190-pounder had offers from nearly every program in the nation, but, with less than a year until national signing day for the 2027 class, cut his list to six.
The Ducks being on the list means that there's a real possibility that they'll land a five-star safety in back-to-back classes, as five-star Jett Washington signed with Oregon as part of the 2026 class. Washington was also the No. 1 safety in his class.
Currently, Oregon has just four commits in the 2027 class, two of which are on the defensive side of the ball. There has yet to be a massive, splashy commitment for the Ducks — but Fa'alave-Johnson could certainly change that.
