Fall camp before the 2026 season is underway, but the Oregon Ducks are still making plans a couple of years down the road to fill out the nonconference schedule.
The Ducks announced on Friday that they will host Sacramento State in 2028 to fill a vacant spot in their nonconference schedule. The Hornets will travel to Eugene on Sept. 9 for the second game of the season.
In May, Oregon and Baylor mutually agreed to cancel a home-and-home series, with the Bears scheduled to visit Eugene in 2028. Sacramento State is now taking Baylor's spot, giving Oregon three home games in the nonconference schedule. The Ducks will open the 2028 season against North Dakota State in Autzen Stadium.
After hosting Sacramento State, Oregon will welcome rival Oregon State back to Eugene on Sept. 16, marking the first matchup between the longtime rivals since 2025. The Ducks and Beavers made a four-game agreement with two home games each, which is set to begin in 2028.
While things can change at any time, Oregon now has a full nonconference schedule laid out through the 2029 season. Beyond that season, the Ducks have matchups against Oregon State scheduled for 2031 and 2032, and a matchup against Texas Tech scheduled in 2033. Nothing is currently scheduled for the 2030 season.
Sacramento State made the move to the Mid-American Conference (MAC) before the 2026 season as a football-only member, leaving the FCS ranks behind and joining the FBS.
