The Oregon Ducks kicked off what looks to be a special postseason run this past weekend by sweeping the Eugene Regional, picking up big wins over the Yale Bulldogs, Washington State Cougars, and Oregon State Beavers in consecutive days.

Now, the stakes will be raised as they head on the road for a Super Regional matchup against the Texas Longhorns. As two of the 16 teams left standing in the college baseball world, the Ducks and Longhorns will match up in Austin for a three-game series, starting on Friday.

Just like the Ducks, Texas — who entered the postseason as the No. 6 seed — swept its way through the Austin Regional with wins over Holy Cross (19-1), Tarleton State (16-2), and UC Santa Barbara (6-4). The Longhorns finished the year ranked No. 6 in the nation by D1Baseball, going 40-13 on the year and finishing second in the SEC.

Despite their conference standing, the Longhorns had a relatively disappointing showing in the SEC tournament, losing to the Arkansas Razorbacks in the quarterfinals.

The Longhorns will undoubtedly be favored over the Ducks in the regional — a three-game series where the first team to two wins advances to the College World Series in Omaha. The betting odds for the series will be released on Monday morning.
