One of the Oregon Ducks' many transfers this offseason has found his new home.
Oregon right-handed pitcher Collin Clarke has committed to TCU, according to 64Analytics, a college sports news outlet. Clarke spent three seasons with the Ducks and operated as the team's Saturday starter for much of the 2026 season.
Clarke came out of the gate looking like a workhorse starter for the Ducks and a valuable piece. He tossed at least six innings in six of his first eight starts. After struggling later in the season, Clarke was moved to the bullpen, where he made five appearances to end the season.
In his junior season, Clarke finished with a 4.92 ERA and was known for his dramatic flair for the dramatic. Oregon fans may remember Clarke best for his outspoken nature and beaming confidence on the hill, which led to harsh words and ejections in Los Angeles against UCLA. He ended his three-year career with the Ducks with 151 strikeouts.
Clarke throws five pitches, but primarily uses a low-90s fastball and a slider with some decent movement. Despite a rough season in Eugene, he could regain his prowess as a starter with the Horned Frogs, albeit against stingy competition in the Big 12.
Meanwhile, Oregon will need to find a way to replace his production. The Ducks will likely see several young bullpen arms take on a bigger role in 2027. Mark Wasikowski will also potentially have to fill a spot in the rotation again if Cal Scolari is selected in the MLB draft and does not return to campus.
Clarke is the first of many Oregon transfers to commit to another program. Among the names still available, Angel Laya, Naulivou Lauaki Jr. and Burke-Lee Mabeus have yet to commit elsewhere.
