The Jets have agreed to terms with wide receiver Omar Cooper on his rookie contract.

Cooper was selected 30th overall in the NFL Draft. His contract will be a four year deal worth $17.47 million. It also includes a team option for a fifth year. The Jets will need to decide whether to pick up that option in the offseason between Cooper’s third and fourth years in the league.

Negotiations were not expected to be particularly acrimonious between the Jets and Cooper. Rookie holdouts are rare in the NFL. In the few instances they take place, they almost always come from players selected far higher in the NFL Draft than 30th overall. Those players tend to hold a bit more leverage, and the negotiations contain a moderately greater number of hurdles.

Fourth round pick Darrell Jackson Jr. is now the only player from the Jets’ 2026 Draft class who remains unsigned, but it is unlikely the team will have trouble getting him under contract in time for training camp.
