The Oklahoma Sooners have their quarterback in the 2028 recruiting class in four-star prospect Trey Tagliaferri and are looking to lock up a commitment from a four-star prospect for him to throw to. On Wednesday, the Sooners received a prediction for four-star wide receiver Dedrick Kimbrough.

Kimbrough was predicted to land with Oklahoma by SoonerScoop.com and Rivals Josh McCuistion. Kimbrough currently holds 22 Power Four offers, including 12 from SEC schools like the Sooners. At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds as a sophomore, he has the size to be a difference-maker as an outside wide receiver.

The Alabaster, Alabama native is a smooth route runner, displaying an ability to win with a deep assortment of routes in the passing game. He does a great job off the line of scrimmage to break press-man coverage. Kimbrough has a good understanding of where to sit down in the zone. He's a quick player that displays good lateral agility.

Currently, Kimbrough ranks as the No. 152 player in the nation and the No. 21 wide receiver in the 2028 recruiting class, according to Rivals. According to 247Sports, he recorded 43 receptions for 686 yards and five touchdowns as a sophomore.

The Sooners will have to contend with in-state programs like Alabama and Auburn to land a commitment and sign Kimbrough in the 2028 class. If they're able to land the talented Alabama prospect, it would give the Sooners a pure outside wide receiver to work with down the road.
