The Oklahoma Sooners found an answer to the pair of decommitments at wide receiver we saw last weekend in Malahn Green out of St. Louis. On Sunday, Green committed to the Oklahoma Sooners, joining wide receiver Greydon Howell in the 2027 recruiting class.
Green is a three-star prospect in the 247Sports composite and ranks as the No. 147 wide receiver in the cycle. He's the No. 16 player in the state of Missouri and chose the Sooners over offers from Nebraska, Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, Arkansas State, and Miami (Ohio).
The Sooners offered Green on June 9, and he came for an official visit this weekend before pledging to the Sooners on Sunday.
According to 247Sports, Green recorded 42 receptions for 695 yards and four touchdowns. He stands 5-foot-10 and weighs 180 pounds.
The first thing that jumps off the screen about Green is his speed. He's got the ability to break away from defenders and create big plays. He has the speed to separate in his route and then separate after the catch. He's a good route runner and looks comfortable playing in the slot or on the outside. He's incredibly effective in the bubble or wide receiver screen game, displaying great vision and the patience to set up and follow his blockers.
He's flying under the radar in recruiting circles, but Green is a good addition for the Sooners and someone who's capable of significantly outplaying his recruiting ranking.
