Kyson Witherspoon isn't just perhaps the best pitcher in the Southeastern Conference, he's stating his case for best pitcher in the country in 2025.

The Oklahoma junior starting pitcher was named SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday after his dominating performance against Vanderbilt on Saturday. Witherspoon pitched all seven innings in the run-rule shutout, 14-0. It was the first shutout and first complete game of his Division I career.

Witherspoon, a projected first-round pick in this summer's Major League Baseball draft, struck out six batters and allowed just two hits with no walks against the Commodores. On the season, the right-hander is tops in the SEC in earned-run average (2.08) and walks (11). He's third in the league, and ninth in the nation, in strikeouts with 74 and he leads the conference in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.73).

Monday's news marked the second time Witherspoon had scored SEC Pitcher of the Week honors. He won back in February following a 12-strike game against Minnesota. Tennessee's Liam Doyle was the other co-winner.

Oklahoma sits at 7-8 at the halfway point of league play in its first season in the SEC. The Sooners jumped three spots in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll following their series win against Vandy over the weekend. Next up, OU travels to Stillwater for a single game against Oklahoma State on Tuesday before getting back to its conference slate Thursday through Saturday at Missouri.
