Oklahoma City’s depth will be tested once again in Sunday’s Game 4 of the Western Conference finals against the San Antonio Spurs.
The Thunder announced pregame that All-NBA forward Jalen Williams will remain out with a lingering left hamstring injury. Williams sustained the injury in Game 1 and didn’t play in Games 2 and 3. He was listed as questionable for Game 4 prior to being ruled out.
Williams had previously missed six consecutive playoff games with an injury to the same hamstring.
Oklahoma City will also play without forward Ajay Mitchell, whom they ruled out Saturday with a calf strain. Mitchell had previously made seven starts in 11 Thunder playoff games this season, averaging 15.1 points, 4.3 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.
The Thunder have leaned on their tremendous depth to take a 2-1 series lead over the Spurs. Oklahoma City’s bench scored 76 points in the Thunder’s 123-108 win in Game 3 Friday. The Thunder will once again need to lean heavily on their bench with a chance to take a 3-1 lead back to Oklahoma City.
The Spurs, meanwhile, will be at full force. Dylan Harper and De’Aaron Fox both played in Game 3 after entering gameday with injury designations. They were not listed on the injury report heading into Game 4.
