The Edmonton Oilers made the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the sixth consecutive season, finishing with 101 points and placing third in the Pacific Division.
A big part of their continued success has been Leon Draisaitl. The 2014 No. 3 overall pick recorded 106 points this season, marking the sixth time in his career he’s reached the 100-point mark. He also scored 52 goals—the most in the NHL—and recorded his fourth career 50-goal season.
Draisaitl is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world, and his standout season didn't go unnoticed. On Thursday, the NHL announced him as one of the three finalists for the 2024-25 Hart Memorial Trophy.
"Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl has been selected as one of the three finalists for the 2024-25 Hart Memorial Trophy, the NHL announced on Thursday," the NHL wrote in a press release.
"Draisaitl joins Winnipeg's Connor Hellebuyck and Tampa Bay's Nikita Kucherov in the top three for the award given to the player determined to be the most valuable to his team, as selected in a poll of the Professional Hockey Writers Association."

Following the announcement, the Oilers reacted to the news on social media.

This marks Draisaitl’s second Hart Trophy nomination. He was first nominated in 2020, the same year he won the award. The winner will be revealed at the NHL Awards this June.
Now in his 11th NHL season, Draisaitl has totaled 399 goals and 557 assists, putting him just shy of the 1,000-point mark with 956 career points.
