OUTLOOK​

Big one for Penn State and another big one for Terry Smith in particular. Telfair is going to have to add some weight to his 160-pound frame, but man, the kid checks a lot of the other boxes when it comes to a cornerback prospect. A fantastic athlete that is quick and has the long speed to match. Shows great overall awareness when in coverage, whether that’s man or zone. Strong ball skills as evidenced by the number of interceptions in his highlights above. Only listed 5-foot-11.5, but super long arms that should help him adjust to bigger receivers at the college level.

Telfair’s just a very, very good prospect, and there’s a reason he’s now Penn State’s highest-ranked prospect in the 2027 class.

Telfair joins a now crowded — and potentially full — cornerback class that has four-star Semajay Robinson, three-star Ka’ron Ceaser, and three-star Zachary Gleason. Maybe Terry Smith is able to stretch this to a five-man class if another Top 150 kid wants to jump on board, but if not, that’s a strong four-man group for Coach Smith.
