Well, luckily we have Justin Frye back to coach him down. Seriously. How the Hell do we retain an OL coach that seemingly made our running game completely awful with the same players that made the running game so successful the prior two year? Hopefully this guy’s experience will overcome what seems to be horrible coaching.

Okay, seeing as how we are punting on next season, I don’t see how signing an expensive 32 year old guard plays into the future of this franchise. I get he’s good. He would’ve been a good get coming into last season. But wasting one season on monti’s tank part deux and then having him in his 34 and 35 year old seasons with a rookie QB? Not seeing the logic.

Can't take Sassy seriously when she says he will help keep Kyler upright.
I just looked at Sassy's account and Sassy is a bot! Or used AI for all of the posts on that account.

Because he is good enough to finish his contract and probably get a small extension to 36-37

Here's what The Athletic's Dan Popper had to say about the signing:
Guard Isaac Seumalo joins Cardinals
Top 150 ranking: 18

Reported deal: 3 years, $31.5 million
Grade: A-

New Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur made a smart investment on the interior of his offensive line by signing Seumalo to a very reasonable deal. Seumalo has played left and right guard in his career. He has spent the past three seasons at left guard in Pittsburgh. Seumalo is 32, and he has battled injuries in his career. Those two factors probably affected his market. But he is a dense, compact, powerful technician both as a pass protector and run blocker. When Seumalo is on the field, he can elevate an offensive line. — Popper

It’s possible they don’t have a coherent plan and are making moves that don’t match up.

Has averaged 14/15 games a year last 4 thats not bad.
His injuries have affected more than games played. It's been talked about around here how his lack of practice and sharpness has led to a lot of the leakiness in the Stillers OL.

Has to be to protect whoever we have at QB and give them some time to make throws

I do like that he added to a weak Oline room

With Frye coaching the Oline went backwards last season

And they brought him back

Lot's of strange moves keeping coaches from the last staff

Money saving moves for sure

Problem is that it handicaps ML and makes it harder to form his team

Solid pass blocker and acceptable run blocker. The nice thing about him is this sets up going for a rookie RT. Seumalo will help protect the B gap, which is a major concern about any young RT. He’s also agile enough to help with Froholdt’s A gap deficiencies. Nice signing!
