SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Officials unveiled the new and improved Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Fame, now located at Enmarket Arena Thursday.
The exhibit features plaques honoring outstanding athletes from Savannah and celebrates the community’s rich sports legacy.
Officials said one of the biggest improvements was the location.
“Years ago, at the civic center, it was upstairs and the only time anybody ever saw it was if they went to a banquet here there’s people in and out all the time for concerts for hockey games and all that,” President of the Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Fame Sammy Strode said.
