Absolutely. but that is another discussion.

Would you pay 10M a year for White, who pff has as the #50 ranked LB last year or pay 12-14M for a top 20 ILB
White is a top 20 ILB. You may look at PFF stats as some definitive ranking. It isn’t. A great charting site for sure. But their rankings are extremely subjective.

It is really tough to believe in good faith and not take this as a prickish and condescending comment. Like most everyone on this board, I know how to use the internet.
Wasn’t meant as condescending but you are allowed to spend 2 minutes on the list of available LBs. it’s very easily available information

Use pff or any other metrics site if you like.

I do not agree White is a top 20 ILB. He was not even the best ILB on this team.

I have which is why I know there aren’t 6 or 7 better ILBs. But keep acting like you are the smartest guy in the room because you don’t understand that PFF isn’t a scouting cheat code.

Greenlaw, Bolton, Ernest Jones, Baun, Sherwood, Spillane from the nfl.com list. I have taken of David and Wagner due to age.

That is 8 including Baun that already re-signed with the Eagles

lol at you thinking he wasn’t the best ILB on the Cardinals. It is essentially a claim that Rallis and Gannon are idiots. Playing their worse ILB 20% more snaps.

Don't have specifics yet (breakdown/guaranteed money/2025 cap) for Joey Blount 2-year contract with Cardinals, but it's worth close to $5 million. Minimum total base salary for two years would be $2.315M, leaving about $2.685M for possible signing/workout/per-game roster bonuses

Huh?

Sorry. That is not a 1-1 comparison to quality of play IMO.

They play in different packages. Williams is also by far the best CB on the team but had less snaps than SMB.

White and Wilson had almost the same number of snaps per game when you take out the 2 games Wilson missed with a concusssion

Baun isn’t a FA. He was re-signed. Spillane is close but has a worse QB rating allowed. Also a worse missed tackle % and worse pressure stats.

Okay, that brings you to 6 from the first list I referred to.

Fact is that there are several better options

Wilson has 62 less tackles, half the TFLs, 1 less pressure, and higher missed tackle %. Wilson had better coverage stats but less volume. I don’t equate any of that to a better linebacker.

Why shoud I spend time on that?

You not listening to 7-8 NFL and Cardinals podcast on a daily/weekly basis and not following the same media is on you - not me.
lol... in other words, you have nothing to back up anything you're saying, just toeing the company line as usual. For you to act indignant after it was YOU who made the claim that the Cardinals will be upgrading at ILB is comical. How shocking of me to ask you to actually back that up with anything resembling actual evidence?!

Read above in mine and other posters following posts for my sources.

It’s been widely reported.

But I just don’t see it as my job to spend time to keep you happy.
This is a fan message board- my posts are not scientific papers.

I’ll be happy to find more specific sources if you specify what sources you have saying that they will not try to upgrade. Same rules that you try to hold me to must apply to you as well

Greenlaw, Bolton, Jones and Sherwood are the only other 4 potentials.
I would definitely put Wagner in there as a better player. Several experts also list raiders’ Daoble as an emerging player ranked ahead of White. That brings us back to 6

let me ask you this... will you actually criticize the Cardinals if they don't pay 12-14M for a top 20 ILB?

I've read/heard that our coaches were not happy with White's pass coverage last season, and that he's looking for $10MM per year. Just idle speculation because I can't remember specific sources.
He’s always been poor in coverage but otherwise outstanding in this defensive alignment. Good leader.
