BJ is on the PUP? No wonder they were having trouble signing him.

What does one thing have to do with the other?
I am not sure there is a correlation. If there is though, some of the delays make a bit more sense.

If the Cards found a major knee issue, can they not sign him? Can they give an injury settlement instead? I have no idea how that works.

If he gets a non-football related injury after the draft, I'm sure the Cards want to understand the diagnosis and prognosis, before forking over millions of dollars. Maybe they wanted language to protect themselves, in the event he couldn't come back or participate for a long period of time. Shouldn't be too difficult to figure out the possibilities.

I mean, you not only asserted a correlation, you asserted a causation. If the Cards found a major injury, they don't need to sign him. Their third-round pick has a major knee injury, and they managed to sign him.

Just because the Cards drafted him doesn't mean they need to sign him; they just own his rights for the next 12 months. That said, if the Cards choose to engage in contract negotiations with him, I think the parameters of the contract are fairly set by the CBA.

This is just speculation on your part. If he'd had an NFI injury, he would have been placed on the NFI list. Anything to support the conclusion that the front office bears no blame for the abomination that will occur in slow motion over the next five months, I guess.

This is a least interested as I’ve ever been going in to a Cardinals season.

I can usually kool-aid myself into a good season. I see nothing this year.

Hope I get surprised.
Agree completely. Normally, I am planning out multiple games we may be attending. This year we are planning to go to the home opener just out of principle but it could turn out to be the only game. Some of that is based on timing of when home game fell but also may depend on direction of season. I told my wife if the team is truly in tank mode and getting killed every week, we won't put too much emphasis on wasting money to travel out and watch them.
