WEST LAFAYETTE — Purdue football already needed to replace two offensive line starters and may now need to replace a third.
Hank Purvis plans to enter the transfer portal when it opens Jan. 2, according to 247Sports and retweeted by Purvis. He played one season with the Boilermakers and has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Purvis followed coach Barry Odom and offensive line coach Vance Vice from UNLV to Purdue last winter. He started in place of an injured Jalen St. John at left guard for two weeks midseason, then took over the starting right guard job from Ethan Trent.
Vice was fired this month after a single season on staff at Purdue.
The 6-foot-5, 360-pound Purvis' departure would create the third known opening based on the season-ending starting lineup. St. John and right tackle Bakeem Coly have exhausted their eligibility.
Left tackle Joey Tanona and center Bradyn Joiner are eligible to return in 2026. Purvis is the second offensive lineman to announce plans to seek a transfer, following reserve Tyrell Green.
Odom and Purdue were finalizing a deal with Zach Crabtree to be the next offensive line coach late last week.
Nathan Baird and Sam King have the best Purdue sports coverage, and sign up for IndyStar's Boilermakers newsletter.
