Full disclosure: We won’t have boots on the ground in Ashburn, VA, for Tuesday’s OTA practice, so we’ll rely on Commanders beat reporters like Nicki Jhabvala, John Keim, JP Finlay, Zach Selby and Ben Standig to be our eyes, ears and question askers. Follow those respected reporters if you don’t already.
The Washington Commanders held the first practice of the second week of offseason team activities(OTAs) today, and a few players were available for interviews after it was over. Terry McLaurin is always a good interview, and he is a big fan of David Blough and the offense he’s installing. He talked about the first-time offensive coordinator moving receivers around, creating more opportunities to be multiple, and confusing defenses. McLaurin said his new OC is super detail-oriented, something he noticed over the last two years when Blough would prepare the team for opponents during the season as the assistant QB coach.

Terry McLaurin addressing the media said it’s good to be back on the field. The offense is going well and David Blough does a good job of communicating what he wants

McLaurin said Blough is super detail oriented. Even before he became the OC, he was giving presentations before games and to help get the team prepared for opponents

Lining up all over the field:
Interesting to hear Terry McLaurin talk about lining up in this year’s David Blough offense compared to last year’s with Kliff Kingsbury

Dyami Brown
Returning to Washington:
Chopped it up with #Commanders wide receiver Dyami Brown after practice.
After a one-year stint with the Jags, he's back with the team that gave him a shot back in 2021.
Loves being back with Terry, the competition in the receiver room, and this new-look offense. pic.twitter.com/TdyNrzA1mk

Josh Conerly Jr
Huddle offense:
Josh Conerly Jr talks about the communication being easier huddling up and it’s a change for him since he hasn’t really been in a huddle offense since little league pic.twitter.com/CSZq47niaE

Reshaping body in the offseason:
A leaner and meaner Josh Conerly Jr.
The Commanders right tackle lost a lot of body fat and put on some muscle this offseason.
He told me, "dieting, eating a lot cleaner, eating a little less." pic.twitter.com/5vpRWCPBHj

Daron Payne
No extension talks:
Daron Payne has entered the final year of his contract.
I asked the Commanders DT if he's hopeful an extension is coming before training camp?
Daron said, "I'm just playing football, man."
I followed up if there's been any type of dialogue?
He said, "Not that I know of." pic.twitter.com/y5M1H8i2c5

Odafe Oweh
Daronte Jones’ attacking style:
Commanders fans,
Meet Odafe Oweh. The edge rusher is excited to get started in Washington.
On Daronte Jones' defensive system, Odafe said, "for myself we do a good job in getting a lot of one on one's. Attack mentality. That's the style I love to play in." pic.twitter.com/bcZpM1wZbi

Chig Okonkwo
Making plays in space:
Commanders TE Chig Okonkwo was asked about this offense.
He said, "just the space, man. The amount of space, I feel like a player like me who's really good with the ball in his hands is going to enjoy this offense." pic.twitter.com/EJVlpJGse0
