REPUBLIC, Pa. — The Oakland Oaks scored six runs over the final three innings to defeat Brownsville County, 9-5, on Tuesday at Redstone Park.

The victory improved the Oaks to 2-2 in the Fayette County Baseball League.

The Potomac Valley Mudcats, the area's other representative in the league, leads the way with a 3-0 mark. The Mudcats' game against Mill Run on Tuesday was postponed.

Josef Sneathen (Garrett College/Allegany) led the Oaks with three hits, including two doubles, and five runs batted in. Alex Kennell (Allegany College/Allegany) had two hits and scored three times, Cayden Strosnider had three hits, Kyle Schofield (Southern) had two, and Wenkai Campbell doubled.

Ty Wickline went the distance for Oakland to earn the win on the mound, allowing five runs (two earned) on 10 hits with six strikeouts to two walks in seven innings.

Tate Musko had three hits for Brownsville, and Trevor Stewart doubled.

Brownsville's Matt Malinsky took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits in 3 1/3 innings.

Oakland hosts the Carmichaels Copperheads at Garrett College on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
