CARMICHAELS, Pa. — Ben Shields and Ethan Erhard held the Oakland Oaks to three hits in a 4-2 Carmichaels Copperheads win in Fayette County Baseball League action on Tuesday at Carmichaels Area High.
Oakland (5-4) entered Tuesday having won five of six games.
Shields picked up the win, allowing two runs on three hits in five innings, striking out seven and walking one. Erhard faced the minimum in garnering the six-out save.
Carmichaels scored three runs in the second inning and one in the fourth. Oakland plated a pair in the third.
Dom Obiecunas, Luke Camden, Liam Lohr and AJ Vanata had RBIs for Carmichaels.
Oakland's Wenkai Campbell and Vincent Aloi drove in runs.
Ty Wickline was tabbed with the loss despite a complete-game performance in which he gave up four runs (three earned) on eight hits in six innings with two strikeouts and two walks.
Oakland hosts Hopwood Village Plaza at Garrett College on Thursday at 7 p.m.
