Today, the Kansas City Current announced that Debinha has signed a contract extension through the 2027 season with a mutual option for 2028.
“I am very happy to stay in Kansas City,” said Debinha. “This city has become like home, and the fan and community support has been incredible. I am excited to see what our team can continue to accomplish together.”
“Debinha is one of the best players in the world, and we are excited that she will continue her illustrious career in Kansas City,” said general manager Ryan Dell. “Above all, Debinha is a selfless teammate. She makes those around her better, and her passion and love for the game is contagious.”
The attacker is widely regarded as one of the most decorated and greatest players of all time.
In 208 appearances (183starts), she has accumulated 80 goals and 29 assists across all competitions.
At the club level, she is a two-time NWSL Champion, four-time NWSL Shield Winner, two-time Challenge Cup MVP, and three-time NWSL Best XI.
Internationally, she has represented Brazil in two FIFA World Cups (2019, 2023) and two Olympic Games (2016, 2020). She has earned 136 caps and scored 61 goals – third most in her country’s history.
