Notre Dame men's lacrosse has earned the No. 2 seed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
The Fighting Irish's opponent is not set yet, as they will face either Jacksonville or Robert Morris. The latter two teams will play in a first-round game in South Bend on Friday, May 8, with the winner drawing Notre Dame (10-2) Sunday, May 10 at noon.
A 15-10 loss in the ACC Tournament semifinal to Virginia this past Friday cost Notre Dame the overall No. 1 seed. Princeton earned the top seed instead in the 18-team field.

A win would send Notre Dame to a quarterfinal match against either John Hopkins (9-5) or No. 7 Cornell (11-4). That contest will be played on a neutral site, either on the campus of Hofstra or Delaware.
The Final Four is being played on the campus of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. The semifinal is schedule for Saturday, May 23, and the national championship on Memorial Day Monday, May 25.
The Notre Dame men's team isn't the only one dancing on campus, as the Irish women's lacrosse team also heard its name called Sunday night.
Notre Dame women (12-5) earned one of the final at-large spots in the tournament. They will face James Madison (13-6) in an opening round game Friday, May 8 at 4 p.m. ET on the campus of Northwestern in Evanston, Illinois. The winner gets the No. 1-seeded Wildcats (15-3) at 2 p.m. ET Sunday, May 10.
