The Detroit Lions have made their first round pick and the fans and analysts are weighing in.

With the 17th overall pick, the Lions selected Clemson’s Blake Miller. At 6-foot-7” and 317 pounds, he’s sure to be a physical presence on an offensive line that sorely needs some manpower to give quarterback Jared Goff all the time he needs in the pocket.

FOX 2’s Dan Miller spoke one-on-one with Lions head coach Dan Campbell after the pick.

“He’s played a lot of football. He’s solid, he’s steady. He can do it all. He plays physical in the run game. (He’s) freakin’ smart, tough, got length, moves well,” he said. “We feel like this is a guy who can come in and compete and help us with the O-line.”

You can check out a video of how Miller and his family reacted here, and get a look at draft grades from notable NFL writers and media here. But here’s how some Lions fans and analysts are reacting on social media:

The @Lions just got stability at Tackle with Blake Miller out of Clemson. 6’7” 317lbs of an offensive tackle that has sharpened his pass pro EVERY year, has veteran-level stunt recognition, foot quickness & recovery due his 54 straight starts. Let me get this straight – Blake Miller

• is 22
• has 54 straight starts
• has missed 1 practice + zero games
• has rave character reviews
• tested like a freak athlete
• measured w/ an elite physical profile
• ++ tape vs high level comp

And he's OT 6/7? In this class?
