But,if you think about it,why would Baltimore let Blake walk if he was such a valuable commodity? They have no QB.Redman has serious questions and Billick is recognized as a pretty good offensive coach. In the Sporting News, they openly questioned his leadership ability and his ability to make plays, especially in the tight situations.I hope he plays great. If he doesn't,it won't be his fault. All you'll have to do is ask him.But if he plays great and the team loses he'll still be happy.Don't count on him to help out Mccown and/or Leftwich either.

Let the coaches teach the young guys. And as for making plays in important games- I just hope he has a chance to play in a big game while he is here. He's just keeping the spot warm til Josh or rookie QB is ready.

Sorry but Blakes consistency and stats just dont lie! He is a GOOD QB has been his entire career. Baltimore wanted him but they set a limit on what they would spend so Blake explored his options! BOTTOM LINE!

Maybe Billick let him go for the same reason he let Dilfer go. The same reason Spurrier thought he could make do with Weurffel and Mathews. Maybe they believe their own press and think they don't need to pay good money for a QB. Maybe because they believe their offensive minds are so brilliant they can win with ANY quarterback.

And as far as questioning the ability to make plays... heck, Blake HAS to be an upgrade over Plummer, and it sounds like he wanted lots less money than Stewart. So it looks pretty good for the Cards right now.

Blake beats what we have, which is nothing. Therefore, we're happy. No one's saying we signed Joe Montana here.

Here's my counter, they wanted Boston, didn't get him, wanted Price, didn't get him. Maybe they decided in light of failing to get either big play WR, that it wasn't worth it to spend more than their final offer to get Blake?

I'm sure he did piss some folks off there but Billick basically said he told Blake he wanted him to be the leader of the team and Blake responded by asking for more money, well duh he's a FA who has spent much of his career underpaid because someone else was the QB of the future. Now there's Redman there he wants some guarantee he'll get a chance to play and be paid for it.

We need to get him someone to throw to but I'm elated we have a QB who can get the ball downfield.

Ravens still have cap problems and he is good not great.

But I agree prefferable to Kordel who is now SOL as the Bears are the only game in town for him

I have been ready for a change at QB. We need a change. Blake is as good a choice as any. 6 years of the same heroics was enough. I am glad to have filled a major hole. Now we can concentrate on the D and get some pass rushers.

We have a QB with a good arm. A new FB to add to our improved running game. We need the WR to compliment. (maybe someone in the 2nd round?).

What a day to be a Cardinal......:)

yes i agree, but with the amount we STILL have left to spend we need to bring in one or both the DE's we like and also maybe a WR like Conway... then the offseason would be a perfect one...
