Erling Haaland is back in action at the World Cup on Saturday when his Norway side faces England in the quarter-finals.

A spot in the final four is on offer for the two European nations in what is expected to be a straight shootout between Haaland and Harry Kane.

The Norwegian striker is currently one goal ahead of Kane in the race for the World Cup Golden Boot, but it will be the Three Lions heading into the game in Miami.

Haaland-fever has certainly taken over in the United States as the Manchester City striker has become somewhat of a social media revelation.

However, supporters across the globe have now been told by one Norwegian that they are continuously pronouncing the striker’s name completely wrong.

How to pronounce Erling Haaland’s name correctly

Haaland has secured himself a lot of new fans from across the world during this summer’s World Cup.

Not only have his goals impressed, but so has his personality which has been on display through his social media platforms.

There is some pronunciation advice being handed out by one Norwegian, however, who told the Football Daily podcast exactly how to say Haaland’s name.

“We say ‘Hall-and’. It’s like the Norwegian way,” the supporter said.

“But I mean he goes with the flow, he says ‘Ha-land’ himself now because everyone else does.”

Something that will not be argued is Haaland’s ability to find the back of the net for Norway this summer.

The Manchester City striker has continued his fine form for club into his nation’s World Cup campaign, which has gone better than many will have expected.

Haaland has loved visiting the USA during this summer’s World Cup and will be hoping he can extend Norway’s stint in the tournament on Saturday against the Three Lions.
