Norway has already enjoyed its deepest-ever World Cup run at the 2026 tournament by making its first-ever quarterfinal after beating Brazil 2-1 in the round of 16.
Now, Norway will look to take its underdog run a step further as the squad prepares to face England in an exciting quarterfinal matchup.
England will provide a tough test for Ståle Solbakken's side. The Three Lions have gotten excellent performances from Golden Boot contender Harry Kane and star midfielder Jude Bellingham while remaining unbeaten across their five matches thus far.
More: World Cup winners (England) and losers (FIFA) from the round of 16
Even so, Norway's offense has been every bit as potent. They are led on that side of the ball by Erling Haaland — who has scored seven of the team's 11 goals during his sensational debut World Cup — while Ørjan Nyland has performed well in net for the country.
The biggest question Norway faces entering its game against England is how the team will line up. Will Solbakken stick with the starting lineup he used against Brazil, or will he change things up after substituting Alexander Sørloth and Antonio Nusa off for Oscar Bobb and Andreas Schjelderup, respectively, at halftime of the victory?
Here's what to know about Norway's potential lineup for its World Cup matchup against England:
'HE'S AN ANIMAL': Erling Haaland makes Norway a real World Cup threat
It wouldn't be a surprise to see Solbakken change out Nusa or Sørloth after Bobb and Schjelderup performed well in the second half against Brazil. At the same time, Norway may simply opt to start the same 11 it marched out against Brazil while knowing it can make those halftime substitutions again if it needs a spark.
Goalkeepers: Ørjan Nyland (Sevilla), Egil Selvik (Watford), Sander Tangvik (HSV)
Defenders: Julian Ryerson (Borussia Dortmund), Kristoffer Ajer (Brentford), Leo Skiri Østigård (Genoa), David Møller Wolfe (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Marcus Holmgren Pedersen (Torino), Torbjørn Heggem (Bologna), Fredrik Bjørkan (Bodø/Glimt), Henrik Falchener (Viking), Sondre Langås (Derby County)
Midfielders: Martin Ødegaard (Arsenal), Sander Berge (Fulham), Patrick Berg (Bodø/Glimt), Kristian Thorstvedt (Sassuolo), Morten Thorsby (Cremonese), Thelo Aasgaard (Rangers), Andreas Schjelderup (Benfica), Jens Petter Hauge (Bodø/Glimt), Fredrik Aursnes (Benfica)
Forwards: Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Alexander Sørloth (Atlético Madrid), Jørgen Strand Larsen (Crystal Palace), Oscar Bobb (Fulham), Antonio Nusa (RB Leipzig)
