England scored an equalizer vs. Norway on a Jude Bellingham goal during stoppage time in the first half of Saturday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup quarterfinal match at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

And during the halftime report, Fox provided a replay angle that showed a goal kick from Norway goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland hitting the cable for the FIFA Skycam. That seemed to change the trajectory of the ball, which England took possession of before scoring the equalizer in transition just seconds later.

The ball hit the FIFA Skycam shortly before England’s equalizer vs. Norway.

“We’ve spoken to Mark Clattenburg, our rules expert, and he said if the ball touches any outside object, then the whistle should go and it should be a dropped-ball.” #WorldCuppic.twitter.com/S4XWCoRnhYhttps://t.co/Ec5YNOIW0z

“The ball actually is touched by the cable attached to the cable camera above the stadium… It comes back very quickly to England,” Fox World Cup host Rebecca Lowe explained while the broadcast showed the replay. “Two passes later, it goes to Jude Bellingham and in the back of the net.”

“Now, afterwards, Ståle Solbakken, the manager of Norway, not happy with the referee,” Lowe continued. “Goalkeeper, of course, as well, as he’s pointing up and saying it touched the cable on that cable camera. The manager of Norway pointing as well. Erling Haaland, not happy either.”

“We’ve spoken to Mark Clattenburg, our rules expert, and he said if the ball touches any outside object, then the whistle should go, and it should be a dropped-ball,” Lowe said.

There have been a substantial number of disallowed goals in the tournament, and England is very fortunate that this goal is not among them. And Norway will surely have a lot to say about it after the game.

The match stayed even at 1-1 until extra time, when Bellingham scored again with a go-ahead goal for England.

“IT’S A GOAL! IT’S JUDE BELLINGHAM! IT’S ENGLAND BACK IN FRONT!”
