The fans at the World Cup have become as much a part of the story as star players such as France’s Kylian Mbappe, Argentina's Lionel Messi, Norway's Erling Haaling and England's Harry Kane.
Whether the drum-beating, singing fans from the South American countries or the Dutch and their waves of orange-clad fans, the stands in stadiums across the United States, Canada and Mexico have been rocking.
But if there is one fan group that has stood out, it's the Norwegians and their viral "Viking Row" celebration. We all have seen them sitting in rows in stadiums and elsewhere, pretending to row a massive ship while chanting "Ro ... Ro ... Ro ... Ro." Even the players have joined in the fun, often beating the drum and leading the chants after matches.

And now they have descended upon South Florida with Norway set to play England in a quarterfinal on July 11 at Hard Rock Stadium.
On the eve of the biggest soccer match in their country's history, Norway fans gathered on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach ... to do some rowing.
It all harkens back to the days of Erik the Red and Leif Eriksen when Norse sailors sat side by side in open boats with oars, propelling their large wooden ships forward to the New World.
And rowing remains a large part of Scandinavian culture, especially along the sea.
