MARENGO, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — North Boone went through the regular season undefeated in the Big Northern Conference in softball. The Vikings picked up another win over a BNC rival Wednesday. They defeated Oregon 9-0 at the 2A Marengo Sectional in a semifinal game.
North Boone got home runs from shortstop Hayden Staver, right fielder Kierya Robinson, and third baseman Lucy Eicholz. Catcher Khloe Osborne added a two-run double. Center fielder Olivia Johnson also had a hit and drove in a pair of runs.
In the circle, Courtney Troutt pitched a seven-inning shutout. She struck out ten batters.
Oregon had three hits in the game. Brooke LHalverson, Izzy Berg and Giselle Zavala collected those. Berg pitched six innings allowing nine runs, five earned.
North Boone’s overall record now is 31-5. The Vikings advance to the Marengo Sectional Championship game on Friday at 4:30 where they will have another rematch against another BNC rival Stillman Valley.
