The New York Yankees are going to have a lot to fix at the trade deadline, especially with Aaron Judge's injury.

I'm unsure whether they should really go hard if Judge isn't going to return for the entire year, but if the idea is that he'll return near the end of the season, not only do the Yankees need to ensure they have a chance to stay competitive in the American League East, but they also want to have very good players to win it all.

There will be multiple players available for the Yankees to pursue, with Mike Trout even being floated as an option at times. Trout ending up in New York would be a lot of fun to watch, though it still seems a bit unlikely.

One player who might not be unlikely is Trout's teammate, however, with it recently being floated that Jo Adell, a young outfielder who has proven he can really swing it with the best of them when he's at the top of his game, is viewed as an option.

“Normally, I’d be against a boom-or-bust bat like Adell, but it doesn’t make sense for the Yankees to make a blockbuster outfield addition. Even if they plan on letting Grisham walk in the offseason, what is the benefit of trading for a big name on a multi-year deal?

“We’re not even talking about someone like Trout, who almost certainly won’t accept a trade anywhere. If you’re the Yankees, you should be targeting a rental or an affordable player with multiple years of team control left,” Jake Elman wrote.

It's also now being reported that Trent Grisham is going to miss the next couple of weeks due to an injury, so that's another factor the Yankees have to consider here. There was already a need in the outfield, but with Grisham and Judge being out, adding a player of Adell's caliber just makes too much sense to pass up on.
