Green for Gordon is too rich of gamble. If we had a more reliable C and PG, sure, but we have question marks at 2 of the 5 starting spots. It would make the question mark bigger for one of those spots swapping those 2. It may solve the PF issues but AG's health is more questionable than Green and he's older so there's no bridge to the next competitive Suns team like Green may offer.

The Suns are going down the path of continuity and development which at this time is the right move. As I said Aaron Gordon is off-injured and on the decline so I am going to break out the Don't Fear the Reaper and rule out any possibility the Suns would have interest in trading for him.

If Brooks could help rein in Morant, I'd consider trading Book for him and picks etc for him, hoping the young core of Green and Ja could mature soon, while getting rid of Book huge contract.

I want to sell high on Book as much as anyone else who wants to trade him, but his value is much higher than Ja, who’s severely damaged goods at this point.

You'd throw in draft picks too? And Morant's salary doesn't come cheap.

I meant Morant + picks etc for Book. As most agree, Book as team's #1 player on the lengthy max contract isn't expected to lead anything in playoffs.

Not a great list of PF's available this offseason. John Collins, Tobias Harris. Harrison Barnes, Rui Hachimura, Jeremy Sochan. Those are guys we might be able to afford. The only names out of our price range are Lebron, Porzingis, Draymond, and Tari Eason, who is young and restricted.

I'm in favor of Collins. I think Barnes is interesting but could be too pricey. I doubt Detroit lets Tobias leave. Hachimura makes sense but I'd be worried we overpaid to get him out of LA. Dean Wade is also listed. I know Adrian shared a post suggesting him as an option the other day. Not exactly a flashy signing but fills some holes and is more of a PF than combo forward or SF.

I think this is true of most highly paid players. The gap between prime Lebron and prime Booker is huge but so is the gap between prime "pick a star" and prime Lebron. And the money gap simply doesn't match. That stupid supermax rule has really hurt the NBA in many ways, it's led to so many stars being paid like superstars and so many quality rotation players being paid like stars. And IMO the talent gap between any of the tiers is less than the gap between true franchise players and the Booker's of the NBA.

I'm not sure any one player can carry a team to a championship. Even Michael Jordan had Scottie Pippen.

The lines get very gray after the most elite players of all time.

Yeah it's a team game so one person can't do it all by himself. But the players that can take an average team and turn it into a championship contender are a full tier above players such as Devin. Blaming Devin for not being able to lead us to a title makes little sense to me, he is what he is - a very good player who is being paid like he's a superstar.

Player salaries are where the lines get gray.

It's more about, "What the market will bear." It's like in real life, salaries are not always equitable. They are what the marketplace dictates.

Fifteen players get paid more than Devin Booker.

Having a Devin Booker is better than not having one. He may not produce a title on his own but he sets the floor of the team higher and Devin in particular has proven to be someone other players want to play with so ultimately he isn't standing in the way of us competing. People can whine about his extension but Beal's dead money hurts way more as he's getting Dillon Brooks money to not be here.
