SIOUX CITY, IA (KCAU) – The Missouri Valley Conference media day took place this morning, but there was a familiar face not present: North Dakota State.

Following two national championships in the last five seasons, the Bison are off to the FBS to join the revamped Mountain West Conference.

While losing a dominant program like North Dakota State has an impact, new University of South Dakota head coach Matt Vitzthum is only focused on his own team and continuing the streak of quarterfinal appearances in each of the last three seasons.

In an interview, Coach Vitzthum said, “It obviously has a tremendous impact, you know, when a tremendous program leaves our conference. The focus isn’t about who isn’t in our league, it’s about who’s in our league. It stinks that we lost them, but it is what it is, and we’re moving forward without them.”

The Coyotes look to continue their streak of three straight 10-win seasons, beginning on August 29th against Central Connecticut State.
