In baseball, the Texas vs. Texas A&M rivalry has extra juice. Texas coach Jim Schlossnagle left Aggieland after last season to become the new coach in Austin. Emotions are high. And for the second time in two games, the Longhorns edged A&M by one run, this time the final was 3-2. Texas won Friday, 2-1.

The game was another nail-biter that came down to closer Dylan Volantis to save the game and the day. A&M had runners on second and third with one out in the top of the ninth inning. But Volantis shut the door, striking out Terrence Kiel II looking to end the game.

Designated hitter Ethan Mendoza provided most of Texas' offense on Saturday, smashing a solo home run in the third inning before hitting a line drive double to scored another run in the seventh inning. Texas got another run on an Aggies error on a steal attempt.

The win guarantees UT a win in the series. The Horns will go for the sweep on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
