EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – New Mexico State athletics director, Joe Fields, announced the largest financial project in university history with plans to renovate Aggie Memorial Stadium.
A $17 million dollar investment in addition to another $1.225 million in capital funding (totaling $18.225 million) will go towards improving the press box, fan seating, suites and hospitality areas.
Construction will begin immediately following footballs final home game in 2026, with plans to be finished ahead of the 2027 season.
The goal isn’t to just improve fan experience, but also create new opportunities for community engagement, corporate partnerships and long-term financial sustainability for Aggie athletics.
“This project is transformational for our university and our community,” said Fields. “It positions us to recruit and retain elite student-athletes, generate meaningful revenue to reinvest in our programs and elevate the experience for our fans, partners and supporters. The future is bright. Aggie Nation deserves facilities that reflect its passion, pride and potential. This project is another step toward building a championship-level experience — for our student-athletes, our fans and our great state.”
