The St. Paul Saints dropped a 3-2 game to the Buffalo Bisons on Wednesday at CHS Field in St. Paul.

Buffalo managed a run in the top of the ninth inning to pull ahead, and St. Paul couldn’t answer. The Saints had won three of four.

Cody Morissette led St. Paul offensively with a pair of solo home runs.

The Bisons opened the scoring with two runs in the top of the first before Morissette answered. Saints shortstop Orlando Arcia committed an error on the first play of the game. It was followed by a double before an RBI groundout and sacrifice fly pushed the first two runs across.

Ty Langenberg started for St. Paul and allowed the two runs — none earned — in four innings pitched.

Morissette homered in the fifth and seventh innings.

Buffalo’s Carlos Mendoza homered off Saints reliever Trent Baker in the ninth.

The series continues Thursday at 7:07 p.m. CDT.
