The 6-10 and 4-12 predictions dont help them much either

I'm sure they just plugged in last years stats and that's why Leinart taking over for Warner hurts the offense seeing as ML hardly played. They have the Raiders beating the Cards week 3 in Arizona :doi:. The one thing I learned from that article is don't use Fox sports for any betting predictions if these guys are the ones providing the info.

To me, these articles symbolize one thing.

That is: bringing back the mystique that was 49er football.

Face it. There are more 9er fans than cards fans in the world and the media knows it. So, their #1 goal is to appease the masses. We went through this bull last season and it's worse this year given the departure of Warner et al. I think personally, Ive gotten into a state where I am immune to these reports. Perhaps it has a lot to do with the fact that I dont listen to much Sirius NFL radio anymore or what.

On a bright spot, at least Sando gives us a fighter's chance although he thinks the 49ers are tops in the division. No one else thinks we're worth a damn

Dont get me wrong, they are our #1 challenge to win the west again; however, I believe they are far from a double digit win team.

With an absolute plethora of injuries, we could go 7-9. I think the ceiling is more like 12-4. Even with the losses of Warner, Boldin & Dansby, this team will more resemble what Whiz envisioned from day 1. Whiz is a great coach because he took the team he inherited & had them play to THEIR strengths, not his. He has slowly morphed this team into a hardnosed, more physical, & mentally tough group that believes in itself. Singletary gets high grades for his motivational skills, but Whiz doesn't??? The Niners are being picked by these morons because the are considered the hungrier team. I disagree. The Cardinals are every bit as hungry, maybe hungrier. On top of that, we still have far more skiill players than the niners. When the Niners visit AZ this year, they are going to absorb a beating. Both on the field & on the scoreboard. I'll hold back my views on the 2nd meeting in SF, because it may be a meaningless game that we sit people for.

It's quibbling, but I would say that 6-10 is about the floor. It's hard to see the Cards losing 3 games in the division, and then you only need to scatter out another 3 wins around the season to get to that record--and we play the AFC West.

Obviously, the stat engine at WhatIfSports doesn't have a lot of faith in Matt to be even adequate.
