Many NFL fans are growing frustrated with the increased number of games around the league that are exclusively streamed on subscription services. To watch Thursday night games, you have to have Amazon Prime Video. A Christmas Day game is on Netflix. Peacock has a regular-season and a postseason game with exclusive rights.

However, the league announced a free streaming-only game. The game played in Week 1 in Sao Paulo, Brazil with the Los Angeles Chargers as the designated home team on Friday, September 5 will stream exclusively on YouTube. But this game will be free for everyone.

It is the first free streaming-only game the league has ever had, which is exciting.

It is important to note that whenever teams play on a cable network or a streaming service, the home markets of both teams always have a local and free over-the-air broadcast option. That doesn't change.

The Brazil game matchup will be announced on Wednesday. All we know is that the Chargers are the designated home team.

This decision explains why Peacock, which streamed the Brazil game last year between the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles, had its regular-season exclusive game moved to December in Week 17.

The full regular season schedule will be announced Wednesday at 5 p.m. Arizona time.
