Even more surprising, these numbers would mark a $100 million increase from the 2022 salary cap. The top NFL free agents set to hit the market in the coming months are now eyeing huge raises as teams have even more money to spend in the offseason. This includes the Pittsburgh Steelers who already have money to spend.
Pittsburgh already has something in the neighborhood of $45.8 million in cap space so a $25 million bump and only two or key in-house contracts to deal with, new head coach Mike McCarthy will have plenty of freedom to upgrade this roster. The first order of business for McCarthy and the Steelers will be to sort out the quarterback position for the upcoming season.
