Jacksonville Jaguars' offensive coordinator Grant Udinski is one of the finalists for the Cleveland Browns head coaching job.

And while the Browns have had several coaches in for second interviews, it would appear that Udinski and LA Rams' pass game coordinator Nathan Scheelhaase are the front-runners, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

"Both had excellent first interviews and are now finalists," Schultz said of Udinski and Scheelhaase.

Teams are often looking for the up-and-coming candidate on the offensive side of the football. Udinski (30) and Scheelhaase (35), both of whom come from the Sean McVay coaching tree, fit that mold.

"This is a team that could target a coach who is a year away if they truly believe that coach is a future star," Schultz added

Udinski will interview on Friday, while Scheelhaase is unable to until next week, with the Rams playing in the NFC Championship game.

Here’s my reporting on the #Browns and where things stand with their HC search.

One additional note: There’s a good chance they add another name or two to the mix. Very fluid. https://t.co/drgS1HgJs8pic.twitter.com/rjCfjDFZPR

The Buffalo Bills have also requested to interview Udinski in their head coaching search.

This past year was Udinski's first with the Jaguars. He played a key role in Trevor Lawrence's growth and in the success the Jacksonville offense had over the second half of the season, averaging almost 33 points per game during their eight-game winning streak.

Going beyond the offensive production, there are a few other reasons why Udinski is garnering head coaching attention.
