The Arizona Cardinals have signed a familiar name, although it is a different player than the one you are thinking. After two seasons having right tackle Jonah Williams on the team, the Cardinals announced that they signed Jonah Williams, a defensive lineman, to a one-year contract.

Williams spent last season with the New Orleans Saints. He played 15 games, logging 313 defensive snaps and had 18 tackles and set career-highs with three sacks, five tackles for loss and five quarterback hits.

This is not the first time the Cardinals have shown interest in Williams. In 2024, he came in for a visit during free agency but ultimately signed with the Minnesota Vikings.

Williams is 6-5 and 275 pounds and will turn 31 years old in August. He played 2021-2023 to start his career with the Los Angeles Rams, becoming a full-time starter in 2023. He split time betwen the Vikings, Rams and Detroit Lions in 2024 before signing with the Saints in 2025.

The exact financial terms of the contract were not reported. He made the league minimum in 2025 with the Saints.

The Cardinals' DL depth chart

With Williams' signing, the Cardinals have a defensive line room that includes the following players:

  • Darius Robinson
  • Walter Nolen
  • Roy Lopez
  • Dante Stills
  • L.J. Collier
  • P.J. Mustipher
  • Jonah Williams
  • Zach Carter

Calais Campbell is a free agent. Nolen is coming off a late-season knee injury.
